Graphics Card (GPU Card)
A graphics card is an expansion card which is connected to the motherboard PCI-Express slot. Graphics card is a hardware peripheral that is used to increase the video processing power of a computer, and make display output High quality. Graphics card is commonly used in gaming and video editing for making computer more powerful for video processing. using these graphics we can extend display output ports for connecting multiple monitors using HDMI or other ports.
There are two types of graphics card
- Integrated Graphics(in cpu or motherboard) - The graphics which are built into the CPU or motherboard are known as Integrated Graphics, Integrated graphics are generally used in laptops and it is not easily upgradable.
Integrated graphics doesn't use a separate RAM for video processing. It use main memory(RAM) that is shared with the CPU. Most of the Latest processor has integrated graphics built into, and it is very useful for laptop for saving battery power with not quality compromise. Processors with integrated graphics are most commonly found in smaller and light weights devices such as laptops, tablet or smartphone. Example of Integrated GPU is intel GPU on intel processor and AMD GPU on AMD processor.2. Dedicated Graphics card(External graphics card) - The Dedicated Graphics card is External Graphics processing unit that is connected to the motherboard PCI-Express slot. Dedicated GPU is very powerful as compare to Integrated Graphics card. Dedicated graphics card has greater video memory(RAM). Mostly Dedicated graphics card used by the people who are working with video editing, gaming and others. Examples are GeForce RTX 3090, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT.
